Traces of the Gothic Line

The Parco Storico della Linea Gotica in Badia Tedalda preserves the remains of fortifications from the Gothic Line. These remnants can be reached via the park's trails, meaning that the historical dimension is visible not only in an exhibition but also in the surviving structures themselves. The Sala della Memoria is also located in the park. Multimedia installations there present the most important local events connected with the Gothic Line and complement the visible fortification remains with a more detailed account of the region's history.

The remains of two bunkers and German anti-aircraft positions are still visible on Sasso di Cocchiola. This site provides a distinct focus within Badia Tedalda's historical attractions. Visitors interested in military relics and the tangible remains of the Gothic Line will find another named site here, in addition to the historical park.

In the centre of Badia Tedalda, the Museo Comunale dell’Alta Valmarecchia Toscana provides a deeper and more comprehensive picture of the area's local historical and religious identity. A visit to the museum therefore focuses on the development and character of the town itself. The “Humans and Nature” visitor centre offers guided tours for individuals or groups, as well as educational programmes and activities for school groups. Depending on the type of visit you prefer, both guided activities and programmes specifically designed for education are available.

The traditional Palio dei Castelli takes place every year in Badia Tedalda during the week after Ferragosto and includes an equestrian competition.
