Its exterior walls are made of marble and sandstone, creating a subtle two-tone effect. Inside, the Pieve has a basilica-style layout with three naves. Particularly noteworthy for visitors are the Romanesque stone baptismal font and the capitals above the columns: they are carved with different motifs and attributed to Bonamico, a Pisan master. Another detail of the Pieve is a 16th-century fresco. It depicts a saint lying in the tomb and is attributed to the school of Ambrogio Lorenzetti. The church therefore offers not just one historical point of reference but several levels of interest: documentary tradition, medieval architectural forms, stonework, and a later artwork.
