Pontedera: Industrial History, Theater and Riverbanks

Pontedera brings together industrial history, theater, public art and paths along the riverbanks. Industrial history at Museo Piaggio

Museo Piaggio opened in March 2000 in the former toolmaking facility, one of the oldest and most fascinating buildings in Pontedera's industrial complex. The combination of exhibition venue and former use already gives a visit to the museum a clear historical setting. Inside, Museo Piaggio reconstructs the history of Piaggio through its best-known and most representative products. This presentation is complemented by the extensive documentation in the Historical Archive. The focus is therefore not just on a single product, but on the development of a company, which can be traced through exhibits and archival material. Teatro Era opens up a different cultural perspective. It opened in 2008 and is a theater center of national and international importance. Its program ranges from great literature and current topics to existential reflection and comedy. Art, gardens and Tuscan tradition

Villa Crastan combines architecture and landscaped outdoor space. The villa was designed by Agenore Arrighi in 1928 and is surrounded by an extensive garden with sculptures and a small grotto containing a mosaic of Roman origin. Pontedera's culinary side can also be associated with a specific name. La Cittadella is a historic Tuscan coffee roastery founded in Pontedera in 1965. The local coffee tradition therefore has a clear connection to the place and the year, rather than being discussed only in general terms as part of regional specialties.
