Viticcio: Coastal Paths, Small Beaches and Diving Site

Viticcio combines a sheltered coastal landscape with small beaches, scenic paths and special experiences underwater. If you are looking for a place for your trip where quiet stretches of coast, short routes to the sea and active days can be combined in a meaningful way, the Gulf of Viticcio reveals several different sides.

Coast, Beaches and Views

The Golfo di Viticcio is enclosed by the Enfola peninsula. It is a more sheltered, unspoilt coastal area surrounded by Mediterranean maquis. From Viticcio, you can look out over Cape Enfola, Monte Capanne and the Golfo di Viticcio. On particularly clear days, the island of Capraia and Corsica can also be seen in the distance. The landscape therefore extends beyond the immediate shoreline, opening up views towards several prominent destinations on the horizon. Path 249 runs parallel to the coast along the Percorso del Viticcio. Below the houses on the Percorso del Viticcio lies the tiny Spiaggia di Ghiaia of the same name. The beach area of Viticcio comprises five small free-access beaches directly by the small village of Viticcio. There are also three paths leading down to the sea in Viticcio. You can reach Spiaggia delle Alghe via a path that begins to the right of Ristorante Da Giacomino. These specific access points and the various small beach areas make the coast a sequence of individual spots to explore, rather than one continuous, expansive beach area.

Snorkelling, Diving and Boat Trips

For activities in the water, the pebbly seabeds off the beaches of Enfola and Viticcio offer opportunities for snorkelling and scuba diving. The connected coastal area of Enfola and Viticcio can be explored by kayak, pedal boat and boat. A boat excursion in the Golfo di Viticcio can be booked by reservation for a maximum of eight people aboard the Luna III. A special destination for divers is the Secca del Viticcio in the Gulf of Enfola. The top of the dive site is at a depth of 28 metres. Because of this depth, the dive is recommended for advanced divers. Octopuses and moray eels live in the crevices of the Secca del Viticcio. Those who do not want to spend their days on the coast only at the beach will therefore find a clearly defined focus here for snorkelling, boating and diving experiences, with the dive site requiring a certain level of experience.

Getting There and Local History
