The “Presenze” installation comprises four sculptures created by Naturaliter Snc. Standing between 5 and 9 metres tall, they shape the experience through their unusual size. Their materials give the project an equally distinctive and tangible foundation: the sculptures are made of polystyrene and polyurethane foam and covered with fibre-reinforced cement. The idea behind “Presenze” also sets the installation apart from a purely decorative art attraction. It was inspired by the notion that new life can emerge from waste. For your visit, this means a combination of large-scale design and a clear concept centred on reuse. The sculptures thus offer a contemporary approach to Legoli, while the tabernacle provides a historical and religious focus.

Tabernacle and Funeral Oratory

The tabernacle in Legoli is decorated with frescoes on all four sides. It was probably created by Benozzo Gozzoli during his stay in Legoli. This cautious attribution remains part of the tradition and makes the site particularly interesting for visitors who are interested not only in a single work of art, but also in its historical attribution. To protect the tabernacle, Alesso della Fanteria built a small funeral oratory in 1822. This means that the presumed work of an important painter and a later protective structure are directly connected at this site. When planning your trip, you can thus take different historical periods into account without reducing Legoli to a single attraction.

Triangolo Verde and Guided Insights

The Triangolo Verde can be reached directly from Via Libbiano a Legoli. Events, cultural activities and training courses are planned there. In addition, free guided tours of the waste treatment and disposal facility and/or the “Giants” area are offered. This makes it possible to connect the visit with the central idea of “Presenze,” without having to consider art and waste management separately.

Landscape Views and Circular Cycling Route

For an impression of the landscape, the terrace of the parish church of Saints Giusto and Bartolomeo offers views over the forests, wheat fields, vineyards and olive groves of the Alta Valdera. This viewpoint complements the cultural attractions with the characteristic diversity of a Tuscan agricultural landscape: different types of cultivated land and wooded areas appear together in a single panorama. The Ghizzano–Libbiano–Legoli circular cycling route includes a short detour to the Tabernacolo di Benozzo Gozzoli in the Chapel of Santa Caterina in Legoli.
