14 – 21, November Florence will hold the 49th „Festival dei Popoli“ (film festival).

The program includes 163 movies out of total 2500 candidates. „Festival dei Popoli“ presents mostly documentaries, still there are some short films and some fiction samples. The festival embraces large geographical area including participants from Italy, Germany, Check Republic, Greece, Portugal, Russia, Canada, Columbia, Brazil, Yemen, Israel and others. The movies of the festival cover the huge range of problems of contemporary life. The authors demonstrate world financial system, environmental collisions and wars. The program consists of 7 theme groups. “Baltic diagonal” is one of the richest groups. It includes 84 films. The material introduces the 50 years documentary history of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia.

The organizers of the festival make everything possible to promote the event on the world stage. It is only one out of 5 such festivals in the world, which introduce documentary films. Tuscan „Festival dei Popoli“ is aimed at the coverage of different aspects of social life. 50 years experience helps to develop and improve the organization, to make it possible to reach new quality level. Along with demonstrations in the frames of the competition the festival includes meetings, discussions and seminars.
