August has begun and that means it is the time for “Festival del Sole” (Tuscan Sun Festival). It takes place in Tuscan town Cortona, the province of Arezzo. You may enjoy the holiday of music up to 10th, August.

It is already the 6th festival. Despite this modest figure there are plenty of music lovers who are taking part: Venice Baroque Orchestra, UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra da Camera di Mantova. Sofia Loren opened the festival last year and such world famous performers as Carlo Ponti Jr., Anna Netrebko, Joshua Bell, José Cura, Stéphane Denève, Emmanuelle Haïm, Angelika Kirchschlager, Nina Kotova, Elïna Garanča, Viktoria Mullova; Takács-Quartett, Belcea-Quartett took part in the festival.

It is not only the holiday of music. You may visit all sorts of exhibitions, gastronomic and wine tastings. Tuscan Sun Festival is considered to be one of the top ten cultural summer events in Europe according to the British “The Independent”. Festival del Sole – is a true holiday of the sunny Tuscan life.

The Festival of the Thrush in Montalcino 2012
 The festival of the thrush or Sagra del Tordo is held in the old Tuscan town of Montalcino on the last October weekend. Thousands of tourists go to Montalcino while the festival. Tarot Garden
 The Tarot garden as a work of art is a combination of landscape design, sculpture and architecture. The garden is located on the southern slope of the Garavicchio hill in the Tuscan Maremma, a few kilometers away from the town of Capalbio. The Franko-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle created it.
