The chapel contains a Florentine-school panel from the 16th century entitled “Madonna delle Grazie e alcuni Santi”. For your visit, the building’s historical depth is combined here with a specific work of art: the church is not only recorded as a medieval building, but also houses a panel from a later period. An annual commemorative event takes place in Malocchio in the first days of September. It commemorates the liberation of the Pistoia plain and Valdinievole from Fascism and fascist occupation in 1944. At the same time, the event commemorates the inhabitants of Malocchio who were killed during the retreat of German troops. This commemorative tradition forms part of the village’s character today and sets an explicitly historical reference against the quiet landscape.

Agnanello lies in the immediate surroundings of Malocchio. There, only a small Margine remains of a former religious settlement. Its historical status is essential: this is not a fully preserved settlement, but what remains of it.
