Park, Coast and Paths

Marina Di Pietrasanta combines an extensive park landscape with the coast, beach resorts, culture and paths for cycling and walking. Parco La Versiliana covers approximately 800,000 square metres and stretches for more than 1,000 metres along the coast. La Versiliana is a public park near the coast of Fiumetto. The wooded area consists of pines and holm oaks, creating a distinctly different landscape impression from the open coastline.

In the pine forest of Marina di Pietrasanta, there are sports- and nature-oriented paths with varying levels of difficulty. There is also an equestrian facility where you can learn to ride. In summer, nature-focused guided tours are held to introduce visitors to the park’s flora and fauna. Thus, different options exist side by side in the same natural area: paths for exercise, horse-riding activities and guided insights into the plant and animal life.

Villa La Versiliana and Cultural History

Villa La Versiliana was built in 1886. Gabriele D’Annunzio stayed at the villa in 1906; the writer Renato Fucini gave it the name La Versiliana. The historic site is also associated with a diverse festival: the La Versiliana Festival includes theatre, dance, music, satire and cabaret. Those who do not want to plan their stay exclusively around the coast will therefore also find a cultural focus here, with a literary and performing-arts history.

Beach Resorts, Market and Lungomare

The coast of Marina di Pietrasanta, including Fiumetto, Tonfano, Motrone and Focette, has well-equipped beach resorts. The Fiumetto market provides a seasonal activity: it takes place every Sunday and on public holidays from 1 May to 15 September, provided that these do not fall on a Sunday. The venue is the area around the Ponte del Principe in Fiumetto. The Ponte del Principe was built towards the end of the 18th century and adds another historical reference to a stay on the coast.

Along the Lungomare, there is a 4.5-kilometre route dedicated to cycling and walking. It runs from the border with Forte dei Marmi to the border with Lido di Camaiore. At the time of the underlying information, the route was being given a colour scheme. The coast can therefore be explored not only via the beach resorts but also along a designated connection for cycling and walking.

Coast and Connection to Pietrasanta

La Versiliana is 4.5 kilometres from Pietrasanta railway station. Bus or bicycle are mentioned as transport options; by bicycle, the route can be covered in 15 minutes via a cycle path. This provides a specific cycling connection between Pietrasanta railway station and the park near the coast.
