The new church of San Biagio was built in 1787 to replace the older church, which had fallen into disrepair. Festivities in Honour of Saint Blaise

Tegoleto’s religious tradition is linked to the feast day of its patron saint, Saint Blaise, San Biagio. It takes place on 3 February. Every year, the Fiera di San Biagio follows on the Sunday after 3 February. Those visiting the village on this occasion experience Tegoleto in a festive setting that connects the saint’s name with the village’s event calendar. The date of the patron saint’s feast and the following Sunday are two separate reference points.

Regional Produce in Piazza della Chiesa

Tegoleto’s agricultural character is also reflected in a dedicated event: the “Mercato dei sapori e della terra” is an annual event that has already reached its sixth edition and takes place in the refurbished Piazza della Chiesa. Numerous local producers present regional specialities there. These include cured meats, cheese, wine, craft-brewed beer, and old grain varieties. For travellers who wish to discover the culinary side of Tuscany in addition to local history, this market offers a direct introduction to the produce of the surrounding area, without reducing Tegoleto to a mere tourist attraction.
