The festival of craft in Tuscany

(Tuscan Events)

Montepulciano, a Tuscan town (Province of Siena) opens Handicraft Festival on Friday, September, 26th. It will last till Sunday, October, 5th.

It’s already the second festival which has been organized by the community of the professional craftsmen. This year the the festival has registered 43 participants, who prepared more than 100 unique art works. The masters of many art directions not only present their fabulous works but will also attract visitors by the demonstration of the process of their creation. The programme of the festival is going to be rich and very promising. The visitors will be able to take part in the shows, lections and meetings. The main events will be organized on the central square Piazza Granda and in the Episcopal palace.

The motto of the festival is “Quieta Contemplazione”, which means “Quiet Contemplation”. The organizers have set the goal of demonstrating the continuing succession of the generations and traditions in Tuscany.

Antonio Mazzocchi , the member of the Chamber of Deputies (questor della Camera dei Deputati) will be present at the ceremonial opening. He defends the rights of the craftsmen and shop owners, who sell their production. Unluckily, sometimes the craftsmen are to defend their rights themselves.
