The province of Prato

Prato is the smallest province of the region. Yet, its capital of the same name is the second largest city in Tuscany. Besides, Prato is the youngest province as it became a separate administrative unit only in the year of 1993.

Prato has been developing as an industrial area since the Middle Ages. Nowadays, the city produces famous textile and woolen fabrics of the highest quality.
