The list of the most famous Italian resorts includes Tuscan Versilia.

Versilia is a seacoast in north-western Tuscany, which stretches for twenty five kilometers along the shores of the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The Apuan Alps form a peculiar background for the beautiful landscape.

Versilia is located on the territory of the Lucca province. It consists of seven areas, Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Camaiore, Viareggio, Massarosa, Stazzema and Seravezza.

For a long time Versilia used to be a swampy, sparsely populated land. Today it embodies comfort, beauty, and health. There are more than six hundred hotels, four hundred private swimming areas, and a few kilometers of state beaches here.

Versilia offers different kinds of entertainment for its guests. There are 15 disco bars, 2 nightclubs, 4 bowling centers, 10 theaters, 7 amusement parks in the towns of Versilia.

Those who prefer active recreation will also find a lot to do here. Depending on the relief of various coastal areas, you can dive or windsurf here. There are such options as going to the sea on a sailing yacht or on a canoe as well. If you like riding a horse, you can enjoy speed in specially designated parks and at riding-schools. Besides, there are soccer fields and skating rings in the towns of Versilia. Lovers of hiking and biking trips can try routs of different difficulty levels. Designated trails cross even the reserved areas of the Apuan Alps.

Cultural recreation in Versilia first of all includes visiting the Puccini festival in Torre del Lago and the carnival in Viareggio. The architecture of Versilia towns is also worth admiring. Styles of two movements, which fostered the development of the region, the Renaissance and the Decadence, dominate here. A lot of art workshops, which regularly arrange exhibitions, are located in Piertasanta. Versilia has a well-developed road system, which allows you to make sightseeing trips to central areas of Tuscany or to the Etruscan Riviera.

The mild climate of Versilia (the average summer temperature is +24,5 С, the winter average is + 9,4 С; you can enjoy sun about 270 days a year) attracts tourists whole year round. Especially many people visit Versilia in the summer. Among them you can meet a lot of well-known Italian and foreign celebrities.

Your vacation in Versilia will for sure be unforgettable.
