Sea Resorts in Tuscany

Tuscan coast stretches for more than 500 kilometers totally. The most famous sea recreation area is Versilia, thirty-kilometer long group of resorts located on the border of the Ligurian and the Tyrrhenian sea. Versilian climate is perfect for sea recreation. White marble rocks keep warm sea air and protect sandy beaches and flora of the surrounding groves and pine forests.

Versilia offers a wide range of options for different kinds of recreation. You can simply lie on a beach or go sea fishing, have fun at a local disco bar, take a yacht tour, go for downhill skiing, or visit the Puccini museum. Many restaurants and bars will regale you with healthy Mediterranean food. Versilian beaches, wide and well equipped, stretch for several kilometers. They are joined with a single road located nearby. At the same time, the beaches are very clean. To acknowledge that, ecologists gave the Blue flags to Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta and Viareggio.

Veraslian resorts of Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Massa and many others don’t have distinct borders. Still, each of them has its own peculiarities.

Viareggio is the most famous resort. It’s popular not only for the carnival, but also for well developed infrastructure. Being one of the most fashionable resorts of Tuscany, it attracts rich people. There are seven four star hotels, fancy boutiques and stores in the streets of the resort. The seafront is the place of hundreds of bars, cafes and small restaurants. Huge Park next to via Michelangelo Buonarotti welcomes the amateurs of sport and offers to visit its golf pitch, tennis courts, and bike ways. The villa of Napoleon’s sister, who helped him to escape from the Elba Island, is among the attractions of the city.

Fine Forte dei Marmi is the center of high life. Italian celebrities like to spend time here. Singers, painters, artists, sportsmen, businessmen and representatives of the noble families stay at one of the three fife star hotels and sixteen four star hotels. Some people prefer relaxing at a gorgeous villa covered with the shadow of the palms and rattler trees. Spending a holiday in Forte dei Marmi is not cheap, but it is worth it. Here you can indulge yourself in the atmosphere of luxury and delicate taste.
The resort of Lido di Camaiore is more affordable than Forte dei Marmi.

Castiglioncello is a small town located to the south of Livorno. It hasn’t been very crowded lately. In the middle of the previous century Castiglioncello was on the peak of its popularity. The fame has gone, but the magnificence and tidiness of the local bays have remained. Resorts in Livorno are cheaper compared to Versalian elite seaside, still the infrastructure is not less developed. Cafes and restaurants, clubs and discos, tennis courts, horse riding, mountain biking, mini golf, sailing, surfing are at your disposal. There are many small towns at the seaside of Livorno, such as Marina di Cecina, Marina di Bibbona, Marina Castagneto Carducci, Piombino and others. Tourists not only can enjoy the natural beauty of Livorno, but also can get a most sophisticated medical treatment, including spa, thalassotherapy and other procedures for well being.

Punta Ala is an exclusive resort which is famous for its yacht club. The seaside of the city is divided into several well equipped beaches. Punta Ala is considered to be the best place to swim in Tuscany.

The Laguna of Orbetello, as well as wild beaches of Maremma, have even souther coordinates on the map. Some of the beaches are located in a nature-oriented zone, thus they are not open to public every day.

Many places on the Island of Elba, such as Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina, Capiloveri, Cavo Marciana, Marciana Marina, Marina di Campo, are typical Mediterranean resorts, which attract tourists with sea food, atmosphere of joy, famous sharp wines and distinctive architecture.
