Rural tourism in Tuscany

Tuscany is the region that attracts tourists from all over the world. The last decades are characterized by the increasing number of tourists thanks to rural tourism which has become very popular lately. It is not a surprise for Tuscany to be the leader of rural tourism among West European regions. The local citizens are said to be very conscientious as regards ecology. According to the Italian Tourism governance there are 57 receiving structures in Tuscany including rural hotels, villas and farms which have been awarded with ecolabel, the sign of the proper environment treatment.

Rural tourists are not only attracted by the crystal nature of Tuscany. The landscapes give pure aesthetic pleasure. You may feel yourself as a painter and the feeling to keep in memory the beauty of the Tuscan nature either in paintings or in photos is unstoppable.

Unrepeatable charm of a simple hut is by far more attractive than standard penthouse rooms. Tuscany being primarily an urban region is still rich on spots of rural comfort. Historically there was the development of hamlets here and there were practically no villages. Isolated from outside noise farms wait for visitors. Rural tourism is the opportunity to explore the country truly and experience the traditions, taste local food and find out who the Tuscans are.
