Tuscany Regions
Tuscany is divided into 10 provinces (Firenze, Arezzo, Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato, Siena). Some of their territories include the coastal islands. According to the legend the archipelago of Tuscany originated from the ripped necklace of Venice. Since then the islands: Elba, Capraia, Pianosa, Montecristo, Giglio and some others beautify the Tyrrhenian Sea like jewels.
Each of the regions is unique despite the geographical proximity. Curious adventurers will be surprised by the variety of the opportunities.
Etruscan barrows of Grosseto, Livorno and Pisa will dip you into the mysteries of the ancient people and will introduce you pre-Christian culture. While examining luxurious Roman villas you will feel the proud might of the great empire. Arezzo is famous for its castles, churches and holy shrines of Middle Ages. The cities of art: Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano have always competed in wealth of cultural monuments and amaze with power of human talent. Cosy townlets treasure some inheritance of the past and not only they astonish us with great amount of masterpieces of art but present spectacular provincial customs. The beaches of Livorno, Lucca and Grosseto stretch for a long way and welcome both the amateurs of cheerfully busy resort life and those who appreciate the beauty of wild nature. Pistoia and Grosseto mountainside are cute any season.
